Properties are the most important section of your Houzez website. You can create any number of property listings, each with detailed information, media, maps, floor plans, and more.

Before proceeding to the creation of a new property.

If you wish to have agents and agencies in your website and assign them properties, it is good practice to have already created the agents and created the agencies to which the properties could be associated.

Getting Started

Navigate to Real Estate → New Property in your WordPress left sidebar to open the property creation page.

Property Title and Descritpion

Enter the property title at the top of the page. This is the name that will appear on listing pages, search results, and property detail pages. Use the content editor below the title to enter the full property description. This editor works like a word processor and supports rich text formatting.

Featured Image

Locate the Featured Image box in the right sidebar. This is the cover image of your property, displayed in listing pages, search results, and Houzez custom modules.

Recommended image size: 1170 x 877 px
Click Set Featured Image to open the WordPress Media Uploader
You can upload a new image or select one from your media library

Property Panel (Meta Boxes)

Below the content editor, you will find the Property Panel — the core of the property creation page. It is organized into the following sections:

Information

The Information section contains all the key property data:

Sale or Rent Price — Sale or Rent Price
Second Price — Optional secondary price (e.g. price per sqft or monthly rental)
Before Price Label — Text shown before the price (e.g. Start From)
After Price Label — Text shown after the price (e.g. Per Month)
Area Size — Property area size — digits only (e.g. 1500)
Size Postfix — Unit for area size (e.g. Sq Ft)
Land Area — Land area size — digits only
Land Area Postfix — Unit for land area (e.g. Sq Ft)
Bedrooms — Number of bedrooms
Rooms — Number of rooms
Bathrooms — Number of bathrooms
Garages — Number of garages
Garage Size — Garage size (e.g. 200 Sq Ft)
Year Built — Year the property was built
Property ID — Unique identifier for the property (e.g. HZ-01). Can also be auto-generated via Theme Options → Add New Property.

📌 The Property ID can be auto-generated. Enable this option in Theme Options → Add New Property.

Map

The Map section allows you to set the property location:

Property Map — Show or hide the map on the property detail page
Property Address — Start typing to get address suggestions from the Google Maps database
Property Location — Drag the pin or click Find Address to pinpoint the exact location
Street View — Show or hide Google Street View on the property page

📌 If the map or Find Address button does not work, the Google Maps API may not be configured. Please refer to the Google Maps API documentation.

Property Settings

Street Address — Street name and building number only (e.g. 123 Ocean Drive)
Zip Code — Zip or postal code
Featured Property — Mark the listing as featured to highlight it across the site
Login Required — If set to Yes, only logged-in users can view property details
Disclaimer — Optional legal or informational disclaimer text

Media

Upload the property photo gallery and video:

Property Images — Upload up to 50 images. Minimum recommended size: 1440 x 900 px
Image Order — Images can be reordered with drag and drop after uploading
Video URL — Supported formats: YouTube, Vimeo, SWF, MOV

360° Virtual Tour

Embed an interactive 360° virtual tour directly on your property page. The tour is hosted on a third-party platform (e.g. Matterport, Kuula) and embedded via an iframe code.

Step 1 — Copy the embed code from your virtual tour platform
Step 2 — Paste the iframe embed code into the 360° Virtual Tour field
Step 3 — The tour will display directly on the property listing page

Contact Information

Choose what agent or agency information to display on the property detail page:

Author Info — Display the WordPress post author information
Agent Info — Select a specific agent from the list
Agency Info — Select a specific agency from the list
Do Not Display — No agent or agency information will be shown

Slider

Feature this property in the custom Houzez Property Slider on your homepage or other pages:

Enable Slider — Set to Yes to include this property in the slider
Slider Image — Recommended size: 2000 x 700 px. Keep consistent sizes across all slider properties.

Sub Listings / Multi Units

Use this section to list sub-properties or multi-unit details within the property page:

Listing IDs — Enter listing IDs separated by commas (e.g. 4,5,6) to link existing listings
Manual Entry — Or manually add sub-unit details: Title, Price, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Size, Type, Availability Date
Add More — Click + Add more to add additional sub-units

Floor Plans

Add one or more floor plans to the property:

Per Plan — Plan title, bedrooms, bathrooms, price, size, image, and description
Add More — Click + Add more to add additional floor plans

Property Documents

Attach downloadable files to the property listing:

File Types — Supported formats: PDF files, map images, and other documents
Upload — Click + Add Media to upload from your computer or media library

Private Note

Add an internal note for this property. Private notes are only visible to admins and will never be displayed publicly.

Energy Class

This section is designed for markets that require energy performance disclosures (particularly in Europe):

Energy Class — Energy efficiency rating (e.g. A, B, C)
Global Energy Performance Index — e.g. 92.42 kWh / m²a
Renewable Energy Performance Index — e.g. 1.00 kWh / m²a
Energy Performance of the Building — General energy performance description
EPC Ratings — Current and potential EPC ratings
GHG Emissions — GHG Emissions Class and Index
Diagnostic Date — e.g. After July 1, 2021

Layout

Override the global layout settings for this specific property:

Property Top Type — Choose from: Global, Version 1 through Version 7
Property Content Layout — Choose from: Global, Default, Tabs, Tabs Vertical, Luxury Homes, Minimal, Boxed

Rental Details

If you are using a booking plugin for rental properties, paste the booking form shortcode here (e.g. [booking]).

Additional Details

Add unlimited custom key/value pairs to the property listing. These are useful for displaying extra information that doesn't fit into standard fields.

Title — Enter a label for the additional detail (e.g. Pool Size)
Value — Enter the corresponding value (e.g. 12 x 6 meters)
Add More — Click + Add more to add additional rows

Right Sidebar — Taxonomies

The right sidebar contains taxonomy panels used to categorize and filter the property. All taxonomies are fully customizable and can be managed from the Real Estate menu.

Property Type

Select the property type that best represents the listing. Default types include: Apartment, Office, Shop, Single Family, Studio, Villa. You can add, edit, or remove types from Real Estate → Type.

Property Status

Select the listing status. Default options: For Rent, For Sale. You can add custom statuses from Real Estate → Status.

Property Features

Select amenities and features for the property. Features are organized in categories (e.g. Facilities & Convenience, Interior Features) and support custom icons. Managed from Real Estate → Features.

Property Labels

Add marketing labels to the listing. Default labels include: Investment, Luxury, Move-In Ready, New Listing, Price Reduced, Waterfront. Managed from Real Estate → Labels.

Location

Assign the property to a location hierarchy: Country → State → City → Area. Each level is managed separately and can be configured with map settings, images, and custom links.

Country — Managed from Real Estate → Country
State — Managed from Real Estate → State
City — Managed from Real Estate → City — supports map coordinates and header map
Area — Managed from Real Estate → Area

Property Expiration

Use the Property Expiration box to set an automatic expiration date and time for the listing. After this date, the property will no longer be publicly visible.

Publishing the Property

Once all sections are filled in, use the Publish box in the right sidebar to:

Publish — Publish the property immediately and make it live on your website
Save as Draft — Save the property without publishing it
Preview — Preview the property before publishing
