Houzez demos are useful if you don’t know how to start. If you’re new to design and develop websites, importing a demo can be the perfect starting point and you can have all the pages and content ready.
The easiest way to import one of the available demos is to use the One-Click Import feature. You can access the One Click Demo Importer after you have activated your copy of Houzez with its purchase code.
At the end of the process of importing a demo, you will receive all the pages and posts, some examples of the custom modules for WPBakery Visual Composer, the widgets and all settings of the Theme Options Panel related to the demo.
It is recommended to import a demo from a fresh new installation of WordPress.
Before Importing Houzez Demos
Before importing one of the demos available with Houzez it is advisable to check the following list. All these queues are important and will ensure that the import of a demo ends successfully. In the event that something should go wrong with your import, open a ticket and contact our Technical Support.
- Theme Activation – Please make sure to activate your Houzez copy with your purchase code to be able to access the demo import section
- Required Plugins – Install and activate all Houzez required plugins
- Other Plugins – Is recommended to disable all other plugins that are not required. Such as plugins to create coming soon pages, plugins to manage the cache, plugin to manage SEO, etc … You will reactivate your personal plugins later as soon as the import process is finished
Requirements for Demo Importing
To correctly import a demo please make sure that your hosting is running the following features:
- WordPress 6.4+
- PHP 7.6+
- MySQL 5.6+
Recommended PHP Configuration Limits
- max_execution_time 300
- memory_limit 128M
- post_max_size 28M
- upload_max_filesize 28M
Import Demo Content Steps
Houzez comes with the One Click Import feature so easily start with content in the right way.
- STEP 1 – Navigate to Houzez > Demo Import in your sidebar
- STEP 2 – Click Import on the demo which you want to import on your site.
What if the Import Fails or stalls?
If the import stalls and fails to respond after a few minutes it because your hosting is suffering from PHP configuration limits. You should contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum as follows:
- max_execution_time 300
- memory_limit 128M
- post_max_size 28M
- upload_max_filesize 28M
You can verify your PHP configuration limits by installing a simple plugin found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-php-info. Please also check your PHP error logs to see the exact error being returned.
I was not able to Import the Demo
Open a ticket and contact our Technical Support. In order to allow us to fix your import, it’s very important that you share the following information in your ticket and we’ll update the theme for you.
- Website link
- WordPress Admin Login details with username and password
- Cpanel login URL, username and password.
