This section allows you to configure how your property search results are displayed when users perform a search through any of the Houzez search forms. These settings give you control over layout, sorting, pagination, and map behavior.
When a visitor enters a search query (e.g., location, price, property type) using the search bar, Houzez processes the query and redirects the user to the Advanced SeaÍrch Results Page. This page displays a list of matching properties based on the selected filters.
How to Create the Search Results Page
To properly display property search results on your site, you'll need to create a dedicated Search Results page and assign it the correct template. Here's how to do it:
1. Go to Pages → Add New and create a new page from your WordPress dashboard.
2. Enter a Page Title. You can name it something like Search Results, Property Search, or anything descriptive.
3. Assign the "Search Results" Template
In the Page Attributes panel on the right (or under the "Template" section), select the template called Search Results from the dropdown.
This step is essential — it tells the theme to use the built-in layout for displaying search results.
4. Publish the Page
Click Publish to make the page live.
How to Customize the Search Results Page
Customizing the Search Results Page allows you to control how users experience and interact with property listings after performing a search. From the layout and visual style to how listings are sorted and how many are shown per page, this section provides the tools to fine-tune the display for clarity, usability, and conversion.
To find this settings navigate to: Theme Options → Search Results Page
Below, you’ll find settings to adjust the page layout, property view, default sort order, and more — giving you full control over how results are presented to your visitors.
Search Result Page Layout
Choose the layout structure for the search results page.
If you select "Normal Page" as the Search Result Page type, you'll also need to choose a sidebar layout:
- Full Width – No sidebar.
- Sidebar Left – Sidebar appears on the left of the listings.
- Sidebar Right – Sidebar appears on the right.
If you select "Half Map" as the Search Result Page type, the layout will automatically adjust to include the map and cannot be customized further in this section.
Use this setting to define how the content and filters appear visually on your search results page.
Search Results Layout
Define how properties are displayed within the search results page.
Choose between Grid View and List View, available in many different styles.
Each version provides a different visual structure for the listings shown after a user performs a search. Use this option to match the design and UX of your search results with the rest of your site.
Search Results Order
Set the default sorting method for search results.
Choose how you want listings to be ordered when users land on the search results page — e.g., featured first, newest, price low to high, etc.
Number of Results per Page
Control how many listings are shown per page.
Specify how many properties to display on each page of the search results. This directly affects pagination and performance.
Show All Listings on Map
Toggle between limited or full property visibility on the map
When enabled, the map will display all search results that match the criteria. When disabled, only the listings visible on the current page will appear on the map.
