Search Criteria Setup

Houzez gives you control over how search criteria behave, allowing users to find properties more effectively.

To access these settings, go to:
Houzez → Theme Options → Searches → Settings

Houzez gives you control over how search criteria behave, allowing users to find properties more effectively. This setup focuses on two main options:

Keyword Field

Go to Houzez → Theme Options → Searches → Settings and scroll to the Keyword Field section.

You can define what the keyword field will search through by choosing one of the following:

• Property Title or Content – Searches across the property title and main description.
• Property Address, Street, ZIP, or Property ID – Searches using address details, ZIP code, or property ID.
• Search State, City, or Area – Targets the location fields like state, city, or area.

Choose the option that best fits your website's user experience and expected search behavior.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms Dropdown Behavior

In the same Search Settings section, you'll find configuration options for the Bedrooms and Bathrooms dropdown filters.

You can set how these filters behave:

• Equal – Returns properties with exactly the selected number (e.g. 3 bedrooms).
• Greater – Returns properties with the selected number or more (e.g. 3 or more bedrooms).

This choice determines how strict or broad the search results will be based on user input.
