Search Settings

The Search Settings section provides essential controls to fine-tune how your search system behaves across your site.

From enabling the save search button and setting up automated email notifications to configuring price ranges and dropdown values for bedrooms, rooms, and bathrooms — this area centralizes the most important defaults for your advanced search features.

You can also define the logic behind filters like keyword matching and number comparisons, ensuring the search results align with how your users actually browse for properties.

Use these options to optimize user experience and guide visitors toward relevant property results with precision.

To access these settings, go to:
Houzez → Theme Options → Searches → Settings

Keyword Field

Defines what the keyword field will search for. You can match property titles, specific address data, or broader location keywords depending on your use case.

Option:

• Property Title or Content
• Property address, street, zip or property ID
• Search State, City or Area

Auto Complete

Enable this to allow auto-suggestions when users type in the keyword field. It enhances user experience by offering matches in real time.

Options:

• Enable
• Disable

Bedrooms, Rooms, Bathrooms

Decide whether the search will return properties that match the exact number of bedrooms/rooms/bathrooms, or any listing that meets or exceeds the selected number.

Options:

• Equal
• Greater than or equal
• Like

State, City, Area Dropdowns

This setting controls visibility for the State, City, and Area dropdown fields.

Options:

• Yes: Show only if there is at least one property in that location.
• Show All: Always display all location options regardless of availability.

Price Field Type

Choose whether users input a custom price range or select from predefined values. "Select Field" is more user-friendly but less flexible.

Options:

• Input Field
• Select Field

Exclude Statuses

Select one or more property statuses to hide from search results (e.g., exclude "For Rent" if your site only deals with sales).

Multi Selection

Each option allows Yes or No to control whether users can select multiple filters in that category.

Enables multiple options to be selected in key dropdowns:

• Type (e.g., House, Apartment)
• Status (e.g., For Sale, For Rent)
• Label (e.g., Hot Offer, Featured)
• City
• Area

Default Radius & Radius Unit

Default Radius:
Set a numerical value to define the default radius for proximity-based searches.

Radius Unit:
Choose between:

• km
• miles

Features Limit

Controls how many property features (e.g., Pool, Garage, Garden) appear in the advanced search.

• Set -1 to show all features.
• Enter a specific number to limit the list.

This configuration allows you to tailor the Dock Search experience to your audience's needs—balancing simplicity with depth. For best results, test changes on both desktop and mobile layouts.

Global Settings for Saved Searches

• Save Search Button: Enable or disable the "Save Search" button on the search results page.
• Send Emails: Choose how often you want to send email alerts when new properties match a saved search (e.g., Daily, Weekly).

Price Lists for Advanced Search

These fields allow you to define custom price ranges for dropdowns in the search form.

• Minimum Prices List for Advance Search Form
• Maximum Prices List for Advance Search Form
• Use only comma-separated numbers without spaces, decimal points, or symbols.

Rent Prices (Based on Property Status)

Displayed only if the property status is set to "For Rent."

• Minimum Prices List for Rent Only
• Maximum Prices List for Rent Only

Price Range Slider (Advanced Search)

Customize the minimum and maximum values for the slider filter:

• Minimum Price
• Maximum Price
• Also includes separate options for rent:
  • Minimum Price For Rent Only
  • Maximum Price For Rent Only

Bedrooms, Rooms, and Bathrooms Lists

Specify the available values for bedroom, room, and bathroom filters.

Only numeric values are accepted, comma-separated, without any symbols.
