The Taxonomies List widget lets you display property taxonomies such as Types, Status, Labels, Locations (Country, State, City, Area) in a clean list format. It's useful for showing users a quick, text-based way to browse properties by categories or locations.
How to Add the "Taxonomies List" Widget
- In Elementor, open the page where you want to add the taxonomy list.
- Drag and drop the Taxonomies List widget from the Houzez elements panel into your layout.
- The default taxonomy list will appear, which you can customize from the Content and Style tabs.
Configuration Options
Content Tab
- List Title: Add a custom title for the taxonomy list (e.g., "Browse by Type").
- Choose Taxonomy: Select which taxonomy to display (Types, Status, Labels, Country, State, City, Area).
- Type: Filter to show only specific terms from the selected taxonomy.
- Show Child: Choose whether to display child terms.
- Hide Empty: Hide taxonomy terms that have no associated properties.
- Hide Count: Option to show or hide the property count next to each term.
- Order By: Choose how to sort terms (Name, ID, Count, etc.).
- Order: Set sorting as ascending (ASC) or descending (DESC).
- Number of Items to Show: Limit the number of terms displayed.
- Count Position: Display the property count inline or on a new line.
Style Tab
- Title: Typography and color settings for the list title.
- List: Control spacing, alignment, and whether to show dividers.
- Icon: Customize the taxonomy list icon – color, size, gap, alignment, and hover state.
- Text: Control typography, color, and text shadow for taxonomy names.
- Count: Style the count numbers with typography, color, and shadow options.
Best Practices
- Use this widget in sidebars or filter panels for quick access to property categories.
- Enable Hide Empty to keep the list clean and avoid showing categories with no properties.
- If you have many taxonomy terms, use the Number of Items to Show option to avoid clutter.
- Combine with the Taxonomy Grid or Carousel for both text-based and visual navigation.
