The User Approval System in Houzez gives you full control over who can access your platform.
With this feature enabled, newly registered users cannot log in until they are reviewed and approved by an administrator — providing an additional layer of security and quality control for your website.
Key Features
- Manual approval for all new registrations.
- Role-based auto-approval – Automatically approve certain user roles (e.g., Agents or Agencies) while requiring approval for others.
- Suspend existing users at any time.
- Reject registrations and block login access.
- Visual status management directly in the WordPress Users table.
- Bulk actions to approve, decline, or suspend multiple users at once.
- Automated email notifications for approvals, rejections, and suspensions.
- Integration with agent/agency posts – Approval status controls whether their profile is visible on the front end.
User Statuses
- Pending – Awaiting admin approval (cannot log in).
- Approved – Full access to the platform.
- Declined – Registration rejected, login blocked.
- Suspended – Access temporarily removed for an existing user.
Administrator accounts are always exempt from the approval system.
How to Enable the User Approval System
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Theme Options → Login & Register → User Approval.
- Switch the setting to Enable.
- (Optional) Select which user roles should be automatically approved.
Managing Users
- From Users → All Users, view the Status column to see the approval state for each account.
- Use the quick action links (Approve, Decline, Suspend) to change a user's status instantly.
- Use Bulk Actions to process multiple accounts at once.
Email Notifications
Houzez automatically sends email notifications based on user status changes:
- Approval email – Sent when a user is approved, including login instructions.
- Decline email – Sent when a registration is rejected.
- Suspension email – Sent when an account is suspended.
- Auto-approval email – Sent when a role-based auto-approval is applied.
You can edit these emails in Theme Options → Email Management.
Integration with Agents & Agencies
- Approved users with the Agent or Agency role will have their profile (Agent or Agency post) published and visible on the front end.
- Declined or suspended users will have their profile moved to the trash and hidden from public view.
- Changes in user status are automatically synchronized with the visibility of their related listings.
