The Post Featured Image widget is used to display the main featured image of a blog post. It ensures that every single post has a strong visual element, improving readability and overall presentation. This widget is essential for enhancing blog layouts with consistent and attractive images.
How to Add the "Post Featured Image" Widget
- Navigate to Houzez → Theme Builder → All.
- Edit the Single Blog Post template with Elementor.
- From the Elementor panel, drag and drop the Post Featured Image widget into your desired section of the post layout.
Configuration Options
Content Tab
- Thumbnail Size: Choose the image size to display. Options include Thumbnail, Medium, Large, and Full Size (Original). This allows you to balance image quality with performance.
Style Tab
- Alignment: Align the image (left, center, right, justified).
- Width / Max Width / Height: Control the dimensions of the image.
- Opacity: Adjust image transparency.
- CSS Filters: Apply filters such as blur, brightness, contrast, saturation, etc.
- Border Type & Border Radius: Set border styles and rounded corners.
- Box Shadow: Add shadows for depth and emphasis.
- Hover State: Customize hover effects (different opacity, filters, etc.).
Best Practices
- Use Full Size (Original) only when necessary to preserve performance. For most layouts, Large or Medium provides a good balance.
- Ensure all blog posts have a featured image set in the WordPress editor to avoid empty or broken visuals.
- Keep image file sizes optimized (compressed without losing quality) for faster loading times.
- Maintain consistent image proportions across posts for a polished, professional look.
