Creating pages is an essential step in building your real estate website with the Houzez theme. Pages allow you to add and organize content such as your homepage, contact page, about page, or any other custom content you want to display.
With Houzez, each page comes with additional theme-specific options that give you more control over the layout, header, navigation, search bar, and sidebar settings.
In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of creating a new page in WordPress and configuring its page-specific options. We'll also show you how to open the page in Elementor so you can design it visually.
Access the New Page Editor
You can create a new page in two ways:
- From the WordPress dashboard menu: go to Pages → Add New.
- From the top admin bar: click + New and select Page from the dropdown menu (as shown in the screenshot).
Step 1 – Add the Page Title
In the editor, enter your page name in the Add Title field. This title will appear on the front end depending on your selected page header type.
Step 2 – Select the Page Template
From the Template dropdown in the right-hand panel, select the layout you want for your page.
Houzez provides a wide range of built-in templates designed for different purposes — from standard content layouts to property listing grids, agent directories, dashboards, and more. Your choice here determines the base layout and available elements for the page.
Some examples:
- Elementor Full Width – Ideal for homepages or any fully custom page you want to design with Elementor, giving you complete control over the layout.
- Property Listing Templates (Grid, List, Half Map, Parallax, etc.) – Perfect for displaying property listings in different formats.
- User Dashboard / CRM – For creating front-end user dashboards or CRM management pages.
- Compare Properties, Agencies, Agents – Pre-built layouts for specific real estate features.
- Search Results – Template to display property search results.
- Splash Page Template – For a fullscreen landing or intro page.
Step 3 – Configure Page Header Options
In the Page Header Options panel, use the Header Type dropdown to choose how the page header will appear.
Available options:
- None – Hides the page header completely.
- Properties Slider – Displays a slider of selected properties at the top of the page.
- Revolution Slider – Uses a Revolution Slider you have created (requires the Revolution Slider plugin).
- Properties Map – Shows a map with property locations as the page header.
- Image – Displays a static image as the page header background.
- Video – Uses a background video in the page header.
- Elementor – Allows you to design a custom header section using Elementor.
Step 4 – Page Navigation Options
In the Page Navigation Options panel, set Main Menu Transparent? to Yes or No.
Note: Transparency is supported only by Header Style 4, which you can set in Theme Options → Header.
Step 5 – Advanced Search Options
In the Advanced Search panel, you can control how the search bar appears and behaves on this specific page.
Advanced Search Setting:
- Global – Inherits the search bar settings from Theme Options → Searches → Settings.
- Custom Settings for this Page – Lets you override the global configuration and define custom behavior.
Search Options (visible only if using Custom Settings for this Page):
- Hide on this page – The search bar will not be shown at all.
- Show on this page – The search bar will be visible when the page loads.
- Hide but show on scroll – The search bar will remain hidden until the user scrolls down.
Search Position (available when search bar is set to show):
- Under Navigation – Places the search bar directly under the main navigation menu.
- Under Banners (Sliders, Map, Video, etc.) – Places the search bar below the banner element at the top of the page.
Step 6 – Page Sidebar
Under Page Sidebar, decide whether to show a specific sidebar:
- Select Yes to choose from your registered sidebars.
- Keep No to use the default sidebar.
Step 7 – Edit with Elementor
When your basic settings are ready, click the Edit with Elementor button at the top of the editor to visually design your page.
