IDX Integration Limitations

Houzez supports integration with third-party IDX providers. However, it’s important to understand that these integrations come with limitations due to the way IDX systems work. 

Most of the IDX providers deliver their content using iframes or shortcodes, which means you cannot fully control their design or data structure within Houzez.

User Interface and Design

• IDX integration only ensures that Houzez is compatible with those third-party plugins.
• It is not possible to replicate the same Houzez design for IDX listing pages, search results, property detail pages, or other property-related pages.
• IDX content is delivered via iframe or shortcode, so you cannot edit or overwrite their HTML/CSS.
• Houzez tools such as Elementor widgets, Houzez Studio layouts, and custom templates cannot be applied to IDX content.

Searches and Maps

• Houzez default search forms and map features do not work with IDX.
• Houzez searches pull data from the WordPress database, while IDX data is hosted on the provider’s servers.
• It is technically impossible to merge these two systems.
• Advanced features such as Half Map Search, and custom filters cannot query IDX data.

CRM and Leads

• Leads and inquiries generated through IDX forms are managed by the IDX provider, not by the Houzez CRM.
• Houzez CRM features such as Deals, Leads, and Inquiries do not capture IDX activity.
• You will need to manage IDX leads directly inside your IDX provider dashboard.

Theme Features

• IDX content cannot use Houzez-specific features such as:
• Custom property fields
• Custom taxonomies
• Property labels
• Energy classes
• Virtual tours
• Houzez features like Saved Searches, Favorite Properties, and Schedule a Tour only work with listings stored in the WordPress database, not IDX.

General Limitations

• These restrictions are not unique to Houzez — they apply to all WordPress themes when using IDX systems.
• The IDX provider controls all property data, how listings are presented, and how leads are captured.
